1. Personnel

The Faculty consists of 39 staff, including 01 Professor, 04 Associate Professors, 08 PhDs, 01 Specialist Doctor level II, 15 masters, 06 doctors.

2. Teaching responsibilities

Undergraduate training: The Faculty is responsible for training modules for students of Preventive Medicine Doctor, Medicine, Pharmacy, Odonto-Stomatology, and Nursing.

Graduate training: The Faculty trains various types of learners including Specialist Doctors level I and II in Public Health, Master of Preventive Medicine, Ph.D. in Social Hygiene and Health Organization.

3. Areas of expertise

The Faculty of Public Health is assigned to train undergraduate and graduate students in areas such as Medical Organization, Nutrition and Food Safety & Hygiene, Epidemiology, Scientific Research Methodology, Professionalism, Environmental Health - Occupational Health, Health Education.

Scientific research

The main research interests are health organization and management, health economics; Nutrition and Food Safety & Hygiene; Environmental health, Occupational health; Epidemiology; Public health. Some researches done in 2019 were "The status of workers’ health and illness in the Cocoa Factory of Thai Nguyen Iron and Steel Joint Stock Company"; "Current status of knowledge, practice attitudes about adults’ hypertension prevention in Hoa Trung commune, Dong Hy district, Thai Nguyen province"; "The situation of overweight and obesity among pupils at Doi Can primary school, Thai Nguyen province"; "Current situation of using health care services in Co Lung commune, Phu Luong district, Thai Nguyen province" ...

4. High technology/special services/Lab system

The Faculty of Public Health is implementing short-term training courses in Scientific research method; Data analysis; Basic nutrition; nutrition in dietetics; Writing domestic and international articles; Occupational respiratory function measurement; measuring hearing and occupational deafness; Improve health management capacity for health workers in communes; Improve communication skills and professional behaviors for health workers, Family planning.

5. International cooperation activities

 The Faculty of Public Health also focuses on cooperative activities in training and scientific research with domestic and foreign universities. The Faculty has cooperative relationships with some foreign universities such as Yonsei University in Korea, Mahidol University, Naresuan of Thailand. The student exchange activities have been carried out with other countries like Thailand, Laos, and Korea ... Every year, the faculty sends a number of students to study and participate in the seminars in Korea in the field of global health, coordinates implementation of community practice activities for students from 3 countries, Vietnam and Mongolia, Korea. Workshop and field activities have provided students and the Faculty with great chances to learn and share with each other.
